Equipment Check: Check!
I spent about two hours testing cameras, mics, batteries, etc. Saturday afternoon. Six HTV camcorders have been drafted for our big spring trip, which launches on Wednesday.
Here’s the deal with equipment for one of these big trips. It’s the “small stuff” that drives you crazy. Cameras and tripods are easy to keep track of, and they usually work if you know what you are doing. But it’s things like dead batteries, shorts in the microphone, a loose connection, forgotten headphones, or unused headphones, that end up biting you later.
In addition to the equipment check, I did some pre-trip shopping. New tapes, new head cleaner tapes, and some new, fat batteries for our cameras. There are some other things to pick up in the next couple of days, but we are almost set.
Oh, and then there’s the packing, which is preceded by doing the laundry. Ug. I just want to get on the bus, and on the road to Chicago.
